Company Background

Speer Entertainment was established in Atlanta in 1984 and is still providing quality entertainment for private parties and corporate events.

Owner, Linda Speer Walker, started the company with no entertainment experience but a strong desire to be self-employed.  Linda moved to Atlanta from Miami where she was in management at a resort hotel.  Working in Miami she had opportunity to meet celebrities who would appear at the resort’s night club and formed long lasting friendships with many of the entertainers.  After relocating to Atlanta, Linda received a phone call from Mr. Bill Pinkney of The Original Drifters.  Bill told her The Drifters had not appeared in Atlanta in a long time and asked if she would help get them a “gig”.  He wrote her a sales speech and had her call nightclubs listed in the Yellow Pages saying she was the group’s agent.  Bill then told her that if she would make up a company name and go to downtown Atlanta for a business license, he would pay her a commission.  The rest, as they say, is history.  The company grew from there and Linda never looked back.

In addition to booking local talent, Speer Entertainment has a long list of major national talent booked over the years covering a wide variety of musical styles. Everyone from Tony Bennett and Wayne Newton to The Neville Brothers, The Beach Boys , Randy Travis, Loretta Lynn, The Doobie Brothers and Santana, just to name a few.
